Does this propane stove work at an elevation of 6,000 feet?
No, this stove is not suitable for installation at 6,000 feet. As a vent-free appliance, the Buck Stove Model 1127 is certified only up to 4,500 feet above sea level. Above that elevation, the oxygen depletion sensor is not calibrated for the lower oxygen level, and the installation is not code-approved. No orifice change or derate kit extends this limit, so we cannot recommend it for your elevation. A direct-vent gas appliance is a suitable alternative at 6,000 feet. Each direct-vent model has its own maximum rated elevation, so please verify the specific model's rating with the manufacturer before purchasing.
