Does this unit come with a remote? I'd prefer a thermostatic remote.

This fireplace does include a basic on/off remote, but you can also purchase a thermostat remote separately if preferred.

Does this have a glass front? Does it have a remote? Can it be installed on a porch that has two open sides? Can it run on liquid propane?

Vent free units do not have glass fronts as they are open combustion appliances. This is a millivolt valve model to which you can add a remote. A remote is not included with the fireplace. This fireplace is not rated for outdoor installation and will rust out. To use liquid propane, you must choose that as fuel type.

Where does the heat come from, just the top or the sides as well?

For any vent-free gas fireplace, the majority of the heat is going to radiate from the firebox into the room, as there is no vent through which the heat can escape. The vents will allow for some circulation and a blower, if installed, will also push heated air out the vents/louvers.

Is the door included?

Correct, the door is included with this fireplace. However, since this is a vent-free unit there are no glass panels in the doors, only screens.

What sizes are the logs in this set?

The manufacturer does not list the exact size, but the log set would have a bottom front log approximately 24" in width.
