This energy-saving chimney damper has a stainless steel lid that is attached to the cast-aluminum frame with several stainless spring wires. Silicone rubber seals make sure that energy does not escape. The item includes a 30' drop cable that connects to a handle in the firebox. A safety device locks the damper open in the case of a chimney fire. You shouldn't use top sealing dampers with gas logs for safety reasons. This item has a manufacturer's lifetime warranty for all fuels. The dimensions are 8" W x 17" L. It will fit inside flue sizes of 8" W x 17" L and has a cross sectional area of 105 square inches. The height of the open lid is 7.5".
