A top-mounted damper is more air-tight than a typical throat mounted metal-to-metal damper and thus insulates your house better when the fireplace is not being used. If you want to install a Lock-Top damper, this adaptor enables the connection between the 13" x 13" damper and a round flue tile. It will fit the 9" round flue size. This adaptor should not be used with air-insulated factory-built chimneys. Top-mounted dampers should also only be used with wood burning applications. |
