I was looking for a new chimney top and a damper. The guys at eFireplaceStore recommended this top and it was very easy to install and looks great. I’d never attempted a project like this but it turned out great.

Easy to use and got the job done, instructions were very thorough.

Installation was quit simple once you prepare and take things step by step....but I do have a single story home that can be walked on.
Waiting for winter to use this yet.

This product is everything that is advertised. The overall build is of good quality and made for long life. The product was very well packaged and was delivered quickly.

I have been in the business of construction for over twenty years, and this product is simply the best product out there of its kind. What was particularly impressive to me was the ease of installing it. Even more remarkable is how seamlessly the damper and handle are able to operate with one another. Probably the most amazing thing I found with regards to this unit is the price tag; in making the decision to purchase this product instead of other ones, I was able to save several hundred dollars and come away with a much better product.

This product was easy to install and has proved to be well worth the money invested in it.

If you are looking for a product that is able to function properly and live up to all of the promises as they are listed, then this item is just what you need to buy! Prior to installing it on our fireplace, we frequently had issues with drafts, all of which made our home uncomfortable. Once this was put in place, what amazed me is that all of the previous issues that we had with drafts immediately went away. Additionally, our heating bill literally plummeted.

This product is a good one, and it possesses excellent quality overall. The design is such that you can expect for it to last many years of use; best of all, the service that it provides to our chimney in both eliminating unwanted drafts and keeping the rain out of the fireplace. One other arena that this unit has proven itself to be extremely useful is in keeping the heat inside the home and lowering heating (and electric) bills. The installation process is also one that is not cumbersome in the least. So efficient is the design that there is nothing included that needs to be fastened onto the chimney. My initial thought is that such a device as this would require something to fasten it to the chimney, and initially I was a bit apprehensive about this design. Thankfully, it has proven me wrong, as well as has proven itself to be an all around excellent product.

What immediately stuck out in my mind is how effective the top chimney damper managed to lock into place. Best of all, the price is excellent and the quality of the stainless steel used to fabricate it is unsurpassed. As soon as I installed this product on my fireplace, I immediately noticed a difference in the quality of the service my fireplace offered.

This is a fantastic product that has done a terrific job. I installed it on one of my fireplaces, and because of the results I have managed to get, I really want to install it on my other fireplace. The choice to install this item on the fireplace has been so effective that I have found myself wishing that I had made the decision to purchase and install this product much sooner. The seal on this item is tight enough to ensure that it will not leak at all.

This product is terrific at solving a series of problems, and what is even more remarkable is that it is a fairly simple concept that is even simpler to install. The impact was immediate, and we are pleased to report that the service we get from our fireplace is vastly improved.

There are so many positive things to say about this product that it really is almost impossible to figure out where there best place to begin is. As a woman, I sensed that installing this on my own would be a little bit of a challenge, but amazingly so, it only took me about thirty minutes to do the entire installation. What really impressed me is that as soon as I was finished, the seal was so tight that I felt confident that it would not leak at all. Best of all, it looks quite nice as it sits on top of the chimney on my roof. All in all, it really is an outstanding asset.

Not only was this product very easy to install on my chimney, but also its effect on my home has been incredible. It looks terrific and has cut down significantly on all the drafts in my fireplace.

This product has definitely convinced me to go back and buy another if needed. It has saved me a ton of money in repairs, and it was incredibly easy to install on my chimney.

When it comes down to the installation process, this product is almost impossible to beat. It is extremely well made and all of the instructions needed to get the job done right were included. Even though I am happy with the results overall, there are a few things I definitely would recommend be changed. Primarily, there are some design flaws to be found in some of the framing and in the bracket. I basically would recommend a review of the materials that were selected for use to be sure that they are designed to work together in the most efficient manner possible, because that is not the perception that I have been left with as I work with it.

I have a ranch with a wood stove in the finished basement. In the summer I get stinky down drafts. This product solved that problem. Easy to install, it comes with everything needed. I would change the locking mechanism, thought. To close it you pull the cable and slide the chain into a bracket with a slot cut in it. The problem is, if you can't quite get a full link in the slot, you're forced to let open slightly to align the next link. Not a big deal but I'd change it to allow a positive closure every time.

The 13 by 13 works great

It's a little early to review this item, since we just had it installed last week, but so far, so good. It seems to be made of quality materials, was simple to install & easy to use. Just be aware: we had someone install it for us. He glued it down, then came downstairs to set the pull-cord & show us how to use it. Wrong! The directions state that you should let the cement cure before you do anything. Unfortunately, the cap shifted from all this cord-tugging. When we looked at it later that day, it was no longer centered. My husband had to go back up & fix things as best he could. Couldn't move the cap, so all he could do was fill in the gaps with more cement. This is NO REFLECTION on the cap itself. Just telling you so that you won't make the same mistake we did. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS the company sends you.

The original damper in my chimney was not functioning so I thought I would give this a try. Removing my old damper inside the chimney was just a dirty job. The existing chimmney cap was removed quite easily and still in great shape after a lot of years. (It was a quality stainless steel product similar to the construction of the Lock-Top). The quality of the new unit is excellent. Installation was a bit of a challenge as it was a windy dayI suggest two people handle the install as you need to adhere the unit to the top of your chimney. Do not unwind the "cable unit" until you are ready to set the cap on the adhesive (it is a real pain to untangle). Instructions that were included could be much better written and clearer in overall content. I suggest only individuals who are handy attempt this as you need to prepare the surface for the adhesive and you will be working on a roof/ladder during the process. The selling price was best around and the unit functions just as it is designed. This is just the start of my first season with the item so I can't make any long term judgements at this point.

I am very happy with this product, specifically since it has managed to successfully eliminate all of the drafts that we had in our home. Overall, the room is significantly warmer now. One minor quibble that I have with this product is that the installation process was not at all straightforward. Thankfully, I did manage to locate a video on YouTube that did a great job of demystifying the installation process. One other minor problem I had was getting the coiled wire to cooperate and go where it needed to go. It took me almost a half an hour to get it all straightened out.

I was very impressed with the customer service representative that aided me during the course of my endeavors. He proved to be extremely helpful and enabled me to get the job done with ease. My lone regret is that I did not know of this product sooner.

I am pleased to report that this chimney cap outfitted with a damper does its job quite well. Because the cap does not possess the necessary width at the bottom to ensure it stays secure in the event of a strong wind, I went ahead and purchased materials to fabricate an extender.

No bolts or adhesives were required. I do hope that it is able to withstand windy conditions, since there does seem to me to be within the realm of possibility the outside chance that wind would come along and knock it off its perch.
