A chimney cap has a hood to keep the weather out of your flue and it has a screen to keep animals out who are attracted to the warmth and protection that a chimney flue offers. This cap is made of black galvanized steel and uses 18-gauge steel for the mesh and the base and 24-gauge steel for the lid. The lid has a hand-finished rolled edge. Weld-nut technology makes it difficult to strip the threads during installation. There is a manufacturer's lifetime warranty against the workmanship and materials and a 3-year warranty on rust-through. The base size is 8" x 8" and it fits outside tile dimensions of 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" to 8-1/2" x 8-1/2". The mesh is 8" high.
