The info says that the color is milky white, does it dry that color or clear? Also, my fireplace is a natural stone, which product do you recommend, water-based or solvent?

    1 Answer
This product dries clear, however, it may leave a "shiny appearance" to the stone.  I would recommend the water-based formula and cover the area around the area that will be treated to prevent any overspray.

    How do you apply it?
    1 Answer
Per the manufacturer's recommendation, this product should not be applied via a brush. The manufacturer highly recommends application via a pump sprayer of some sort, as this will yield the best results.

Can you apply chimney saver over a painted chimney and then paint over the sealer?
    1 Answer
Per the manufacturer, it would not work and you can either just repaint the chimney or remove the paint and apply a repellent.

Do y'all sell the solvent based?
    1 Answer
Yes, we do sell the solvent-based version of this ChimneySaver Water Repellent, which you can find here.   Please Note: Due to VOC regulations, the sale of regular ChimneySaver Solvent-Base is prohibited in certain states. So far, these states include California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Washinton D.C., Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia.  You may want to check and make sure it is still acceptable for use in your state, otherwise the water-based option will be your best bet.

    Works Great!
I used the ChimneySaver Water-Based Water Repellent years ago on my fireplace after wire brush cleaning it. It's been 3 years, and it looks great, no sign of moss or lichen growing. I purchased more this summer to use on other cement areas. So easy to use (spray on). I pressure washed cement stairs, cement walkways, etc. It will hopefully deter moss and muck from sticking to the surface like it did on my fireplace bricks. Less work each year = a good thing!

FANTASTIC PRODUCT. NO MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHER BRANDS BUT FAR SUPERIOR!
I have been using this product on my chimney and front steps over the past 30 yrs. I apply it whenever water fails to bead up on the bricks, about every 9 years or so. I think my builder used bricks that were not fired properly and as a result they are somewhat porous. Chimney Saver stopped the spalling of the bricks and efflorescence of the mortar which was staining the bricks white. This year I intend to apply it on the bricks covering the front of my house. The water-based product seems pretty safe so I just use a hat and eyeglasses when applying, obviously trying not to intentionally spray adjacent surfaces or myself. This is one product that lives up to its name...it literally saved my chimney!

    they took care of me
This is my second 5 gallons plus fixing cracks. It didn't take long for me to decide I needed another 5 gallons on my rock fireplace. eFireplace Store got it out fast so I can finish my project. I wonder what to use when I came across a couple of contractors who said to order chimney saver from eFireplace Store. Great product and a great place to work with!

    Great Stuff
Used it on a leaky chimney. It fixed it. Easy to apply. Also used it for a concrete balcony. Love this stuff.
it works easy to apply easy to clean up I think that it is expensive though it is cheaper than other products for the same applications.
