PelletVent Pro's wall thimble allows your vent pipes to easily pass through walls once it is installed. Also, this product provides you with the required 1 inch clearance to all combustibles to keep you home and venting system safe. You can use this wall thimble on walls that are 4 to 8 inches thick and it fits most 3 inch vent pipes. Installation of this particular wall thimble requires a 7.5 inch by 7.5 inch square opening. Included with the product is a limited lifetime warranty in case of damage.

Would you use this in a D-style log cabin, and if so, how?
Yes, this is the appropriate wall pass-through that would be used in that installation. You would need to measure the required opening needed to be cut out of the wall at the pre-determined height of your venting on the interior of the home, then proceed to cut your opening through the wall. It is advisable to use silicone on the exterior of the log home to properly seal the area once installed.

Can fiberglass insulation be used to fill cavity?
The wall thimble maintains an air space around the pipe. You can insulate around the thimble. You cannot insulate the airspace between the pipe and wall thimble shield.
