My name is Andrew Newell and I am currently a member of the Michigan State concrete canoe team this year. We are looking for release agents for our canoe mold (it is a styrofoam form) that will make de-molding our canoe much easier. We have been using petroleum jelly for the past little while and although it works, it is grease and leaves a film on our cylinders that is hard to get off and paint over.
I was just wondering if Ahrens 1 Quart Concrete Release Agent would work well on both plastic as well as styrofoam surfaces? We are casting the canoe February 4th and need to order something soon. Please get back to me as soon as you are able too.
Per our supplier, this agent should actually work rather well for you. As it turns out, the crown forms with which this product is made to work are made of a type of Styrofoam.
