When you need to pass a pipe through a combustible wall into a masonry chimney, you may well need to use an Insul-Flue 6 Inch Insulated Thimble. And if you use that thimble, you'll need to use this Insul-Flue 6 Inch Cover Assembly ONLY, too. In fact, you have to add the cover assembly to your separately purchase thimble to successfully complete the installation. Just be aware that the cover assembly protrudes 13 inches into the room. Whatever your situation requires, you can count on an Insul-Flue 6 Inch Cover Assembly ONLY.

Is the cover assembly include both the metal base and the sleeve?
This assembly is indeed both the cover plate and the metal sleeve. The round inner thimble is a separate component.
