None of the “universal” keys seem to fit my fireplace. Is there a larger size key?

The female end of the universal keys we offer are stepped for use with either 1/4 or 5/16 male valve stems. Unfortunately, we do not offer any other universal keys for larger valve stems and don't have access to any valve keys that may be used with larger valve stems.

My wood fireplace has a knob to open and close ventilation system. I am refinishing the front of fireplace and we won't be able to reach knob. Would this key be an option to elongate that knob? Or is this only for gas fireplaces? Is there an option for this?

This is really only for turning gas valves on and off, so I couldn't guarantee it would fit your damper handle. This is something you're likely going to need to have custom fabricated by a local metalworker.

As long as the control stem is a square cut and 1/4 of 5/16, this key will indeed work.
