Does the DirectVent Pro Cathedral Ceiling Support Box act as a firestop too?
It does indeed act as a firestop, in that it provides adequate clearance to combustibles within the box itself.

Tary from AZ asked:
Is this Dura-Vent DirectVent Pro Cathedral ceiling support box compatible with the Heat fab 6" adjustable stove pipe? The four inch diameter is confusing to me. Are they talking about the triple wall inner diameter?

The 4" inner diameter is the aluminum inner diameter or exhaust gas portion of DirectVent Pro pipe, which is made for direct vent gas stoves. As such, this would not be proper for a wood stove. Furthermore, the ceiling support box is a component of the class A chimney system for wood stoves. Common black stovepipe would transition to class A chimney with this component and corresponding class A chimney of the same manufacturer would be used from the support box and through the roof.
