Customer Q&A with Product Specialists
Brian
from fleetwood (near boone nc) asked:
Does the 46DVA-SC storm collar attach to the 46DVA-48 pipe with a band, or is high-temperature silicone sufficient? If a band is required, is one available?
No separate band is required for the 46DVA-SC storm collar, according to the DirectVent Pro installation manual. Slip the storm collar over the pipe section, push it down to the top of the roof flashing, and apply a non-hardening sealant between the storm collar and the pipe section. You can find this step in the DirectVent Pro installation manual under Vertical Installation, Step 9.
