By using this thimble from DuraPlus you can pass a chimney pipe through a combustible wall in your home. The stainless steel design and slick black finish make this an attractive and durable addition to your ventillation system. The thimble comes with the necessary trim, and it is designed to be used with 8 inch chimney piping. With this thimble, you can use your vents with just 2 inches of clearance. between your pipes and the walls around them.

Will this wall thimble work with 8-inch double-wall DVL Duravent pipe?
This thimble is designed for 8-inch DuraPlus chimney pipe. While the DVL connector pipe itself does not pass through the wall, this thimble can be integrated into an 8-inch DuraVent DVL system. DVL is a close-clearance connector pipe that, according to the DuraPlus installation manual, connects to the wall thimble using an 8-inch close-clearance chimney adapter. A section of 8-inch DuraPlus chimney pipe is what actually passes through the thimble and the wall. The necessary adapter for this transition is the DuraVent DVL and DuraBlack 8 Inch Diameter Chimney Adapter. This adapter is listed for connecting double-wall DVL or single-wall DuraBlack stovepipe to DuraTech, DuraPlus, and DuraLiner for through-the-wall or ceiling support installations. The connection method is further detailed in the DuraPlus installation manual under "Connection From Appliance To Chimney System." This thimble is sized for 8-inch inner diameter DuraPlus chimney pipe and fits wall thicknesses from 4 3/4 inches to 7 3/4 inches.

How do you install one of these in a corrugated steel building wall, and keep it water tight?
This install would be pretty similar to an install in a standard wall. You'll simply frame the thimble in on the interior side of the wall. The exterior surface can then be sealed with a waterproof sealant. A custom flashing may need to be fabricated to ensure a seal between the corrugations.
