What is the maximum distance that the fan can be placed from the heating source (fireplace)?
    1 Answer
While the manufacturer does not provide a maximum distance, it would be recommended to install this fan within 25 feet of the heat source.

How much power does it drain? We're off grid with batteries and inverter. Will it work using a modified sine wave inverter?
    1 Answer
Unfortunately, this fan cannot be used with batteries or alternate methods. It has a 12 ft. plug-in cord with one speed, 105 cfm.

    How does this attach?
    1 Answer
The included bracket should be mounted at the top of the door frame and not hooked over the door. When installed correctly, the heated air near ceiling level where the hearth system is located will be pushed to another room.

Is the fan reversible? If not, is the mounting bracket removable such that I could easily flip it to point the opposite direction? I want to install these horizontally inside two (empty) vents that go between upstairs and downstairs. The wood stove is upstairs. In winter I want to push warm air downstairs, and ideally, in summer we could reverse the fans and pull cool air from downstairs to upstairs. Also, since I intend to mount horizontally, is the adjustable bracket stiff enough that the fan won't flop over to a (useless) vertical position, or can it be tightened to "fix" it in one position?
    1 Answer
The fan motor itself can allow for a reverse of polarity, but this would need to be something that is manually swapped in the field by installation of an in line reverse polarity switch. The mounting bracket can certainly be tightened down to prevent movement of the fan, but I am afraid that the mounting method used to attach the fan to the case will not work in a horizontal orientation. The bracket would need to be modified or an alternate suspension method used.

Is this product safe to mount over my propane stove?
    1 Answer
I do not recommend positioning the fan directly above the stove, but mounting it in close proximity to the stove will have a positive effect in circulating the room air. The fan itself should not be exposed to temperatures reaching close to 140°F.

Can this unit be used above a wood stove or will the heat from the stove burn it out?
    1 Answer
This fan has a thermally insulated motor and can be used in many different applications to increase convection of heated air. I do not recommend positioning the fan directly above the stove, but mounting it in close proximity to the stove will have a positive effect in circulating room air.

Certainly. This fan has a very heavy bearing that allows for any orientation. It would be ideal to move air from one floor to another.

    Surprisingly Efficient and Quiet
I purchased 3 of the 5 inch fans to circulate air in the lower rooms of my cabin. They run non-stop as circulation is needed, in winter to distribute heat from the pellet stove, and sufficient air is needed to keep the rooms dry during the humid summer months. The fans are surprisingly quiet, move more air than expected, and have not increased my electrical bill. In fact, my bill has been less as I don't use those ugly floor fans to move air around to be comfortable in my cabin any more. I will be purchasing a couple more to install in my loft. They will be replacing the inefficient ceiling fan. It will become just a decorative item afterwards. There is also a limited one year warranty.
Quiet, very effective and efficient, longer cord than most. The enclosed plastic cord holders failed to stick and there is no other way to attach them to the walls.

    Excellent
Love it! This is so quiet! I like the small size so I placed one in each upper corner of the doorway to move the hot air from the wood burning room to the other areas of our house. It runs 24/7 from October through March so we needed a fan with great bearings and I think we finally found it! I like the switch on the cord and the fact it is built out of sturdy materials, not plastic! It hangs from one corner of the doorway better than the other but we made it work and it was not a big deal. I did not use the sticky back cord holders, instead I used my own small hooks for the cord.
Quiet. Durable.Long lasting bearings.Compact. Sticky back cord holders do not work well. Hangs in one corner of the doorway better than the other.

    Very quiet + long cord
I had been looking for a small quiet fan to circulate air in the living room. This fan is quiet and doesn't interfere with watching TV or listening to music. When I first looked at the mount that comes with the fan I thought it was flimsy, but it actually is very sturdy and hasn't cause any problems.

    Moves Air Very Well
This product is exceptional when it comes to moving air around. The bracket that is designed for mounting the fan needed some modifications, but overall it worked quite well.

    I'mperial 5 Inch x 5 Inch Extra-Quiet Black Circulating Fan
These fans do just what they're supposed to do and then some. I have a centrally located room with a wood stove, with 4 rooms off of each corner of that central room and, with these fans I can pull that warm air into each room and do it so quietly, I don't notice them being on and I have 4 of them.Of all the fans that look like these, they were the only fans to move 105 cf of air per min. Others I saw moved half as much air and cost the same if not more !!They had the absolute best price for this fan and with the size of my order, shipping was free.

    Incredibly Quiet
This product is very effective in channeling a significant amount of heat from one room to another. What is remarkable in my mind is how often I have used these fans over the past decade and that they are still in decent condition; best of all, they run quietly.

    Extremely Powerful
This fan is unobtrusive, small, and very effective. Best of all, it is powerful enough to circulate air throughout the room, keeping the entire room (and the rest of the house for that matter) at a comfortable temperature.
