Customer Q&A with Product Specialists

Yul K. from Boise Idaho asked:
I am installing a wood stove with stove pipe (5-inch inner diameter, 7-inch outer diameter). Does this ceiling box accommodate these dimensions and feature a smooth 7-inch round opening without threads or locking flanges?
I am installing a wood stove with stove pipe (5-inch inner diameter, 7-inch outer diameter). Does this ceiling box accommodate these dimensions and feature a smooth 7-inch round opening without threads or locking flanges?
The Selkirk SuperVent Cathedral Ceiling Support Box (for 7-inch inner diameter SuperVent) is designed for Selkirk SuperVent all-fuel chimney pipe with a 7-inch inner diameter. This type of pipe has an outer diameter larger than 7 inches, and the box opening is sized accordingly. Therefore, it is not compatible with your described pipe (5-inch inner diameter, 7-inch outer diameter). All-fuel and Class-A chimney support boxes are tested and listed for specific manufacturer systems. To ensure you find the correct part, please provide the manufacturer name and model line stamped on your chimney pipe, and indicate if this is a new installation. Additionally, a ceiling support box supports insulated Class-A chimney through the ceiling, while the stove pipe connecting your wood stove to the support is a separate component.

Cliff from Colons ill asked:
Does the pipe go though the box or does it connect to it?
Does the pipe go though the box or does it connect to it?
A section of class A chimney would extend through the opening of the support box and a stovepipe adapter would be used to make the transition to stovepipe.
