To install this with a Superpro 30 degree elbow kit SPR8EL30K, do I use one of the bands included with the kit to attach the elbow to the anchor plate? Do I need any kind of sealant with it?
1 Answer
It is recommend to use one piece of straight pipe before an elbow, but, failing that, yes, the offset elbow can attach directly to the anchor plate. There would be no sealant or band required at this point.

Can this only be used with factory compatible fireplaces or can this anchor plate be used with a masonry base?

This anchor plate can be used with prefabricated and masonry applications alike. It is fairly common to attach an anchor plate such as this model to the top of a masonry chimney that needs to be extended or as a base to a masonry fireplace when the masonry chimney is beyond repair.
