The minimum clearances are 10" from the top and 3" from each side. No clearance is required at the bottom. Can a vent kit be purchased to go up through a ceiling?

This product is designed to be straight out of the back. The manufacturer does not give the option for a vertical vent.

Where do I oil the fan motor?

They are sealed bearings and can not be oiled. Most manufacturers have stopped making fans with oiling ports. You can try electric motor lube on the shaft.

How easy is this to install and hook up to propane? Can it be below a window?

While it can not be located below a window, the unit is not difficult to install. You will, however, want to have the gas connections done by a licensed plumber or gasfitter.

Will the pilot light stay lit on this unit when the power goes out?

This appliance does not have a pilot. It is equipped with an ignition device which automatically lights the burner. It requires 110v to operate and will not work in a power outage. We would suggest a wall furnace with standing pilot light if this is a major concern.
