This 30,000 BTU heater can be adjusted to have one plaque lit (7,000 BTU Propane, 8,000 BTU Natural Gas), three plaques lit (18,000 BTU), or all five plaques lit (30,000 BTU).

The Empire Infrared Heater is equipped with auto shut-off safety controls, including a pilot light safety system that turns off the heater if there's insufficient fresh air. Additionally, a thermocouple stops the gas flow to the pilot assembly if the pilot light is extinguished. These features are designed to ensure safe operation.
If you notice the unit acting up or repeatedly shutting off, it is highly recommended to turn off the unit and close the main gas supply valve until a qualified professional can service it. You can install this inside a fireplace opening with the optional stand. Please note the clearance and installation requirements shown on pages 10-12 in the manual.
