We have an antique copper fireplace surround that has had fingerprints on it for a long while now. Is there any way to clean those off without damaging the antique color?
Unfortunately, no. The oils that caused the copper to darken will be removed with any type of metal cleaner, but the result will be the entire area being significantly lightened as the metal surface is restored.
We recently received and installed a Deluxe DVD36FP30N-2 from you and we also ordered and received the remote control system. When the material arrived, it also included a 110VAC outlet. Does the remote starter system need external power other than the batteries included? Also, was I sent the millivolt standing pilot FP 3 series, or the direct ignition system FP 5 series? I am confused as to how to connect the remote to the fireplace. It is all hooked up to the gas, but I want to ensure I do the ignition correctly.
The unit you purchased is indeed a millivolt controlled fireplace. The 110VAC outlet is for the installation of a blower. The remote receiver will simply need to be connected to the gas valve per the product manual for installation.
