This hood sticks out 4.5".

This hood can be used as a surface-mount heat deflector above any fireplace. Still, please note it is only designed to be anchored into the facing material above the fireplace - not to the fireplace itself.

Can this deflector be mounted to a manufactured Empire Boulevard linear fireplace?
This deflector hood should not be installed onto an Empire Boulevard linear fireplace, as this may cause too much heat to be trapped inside the fireplace and overheat the appliance.

The adjustable black fireplace hood is well made. It was delivered on time. The clip that hold the hood are a bit flimsy. It hand a a bit of an angle.

I needed a wider hood than my 2" as my TV and equipment was above it. Needed to keep heat from going straight up. Mounted this on my outside part of fireplace box with screws provided and slide down over them. Works great and looks beautiful. Good craftsmanship and quick response!
