Will this work with a Desa vent-free propane VS24PRA?
1 Answer
Yes, it would work with the remote-ready version of the PRA models, but you would need to use the new receiver that comes with this remote and disconnect the old receiver from the gas valve and unit. The new receiver would need to be placed behind or on the side of the log set, in a location safe from the heat.

Press the ON key and the OFF key on the transmitter at the same time this will change from 0 F to 0 C. Follow this same procedure to change from C back to F.

The remote control works very well
The instructions for installation were missing one critical step concerning the toggle switch for a remote that is integral to the fireplace. The toggle was not only not mentioned, but when I spoke to a technition, he told me the toggle for the remote needs to be in the off position, when one might think it should be in the on position, which was why my remote didn't work until that was clarified.
But, now it works great!
The remote works imnediately, on and of, like a light switch.
Only the issues with the setup, previously mentioned.
But, now it works great!
