Operating your Empire remote-ready appliance with this wall thermostat will ensure that your room is always at the perfect comfort level. Sometimes with manual controls, the temperature swings between too cold and too hot because it is inconvenient to be constantly adjusting the control. The thermostat mounts conveniently on the wall and you can basically set it and forget it. Then you will enjoy a wonderfully comfortable room and can use your energy for other things.

How can this be wired to a cidv-30 -7 stove?
    1 Answer
The low-voltage thermostat wire would attach to the gas valve on the unit. The are 3 screws/spade connectors on the valve. You would attach the thermostat wire to the TH and TP/TH spade connectors on the valve and run them back to your thermostat. You can see an archived online manual here for further reference.

Is this thermostat wired to the stove or is it battery powered with a signal to the stove?

This switch would arrive with two low voltage wires that would run directly from the wall thermostat to a 24v or millivolt system and no batteries would be needed.

I currently have a log set with a manual millivolt switch. I'm getting the Ponderosa ventless set and wanted to get a thermostat. Is this wired or wireless? Do I need to use the millivolt wall switch with it that I currently have?
    1 Answer
The Ponderosa ventless gas log set can be ordered with a millivolt burner, which will allow you to use the millivolt wall switch you currently have or you could use a millivolt wall thermostat or a thermostat remote control.

The front cover came off of my Empire thermostat, the spring came out and the thermostat is no longer working. Could that be repaired or is the thermostat going to need to be replaced?
    1 Answer
If it's not working, it is likely that the mercury switch or some part of the mechanics has come apart and would be considerably difficult to fix.  I would probably go with replacing it.

Will this work with the Intermittent Pilot system on my Empire DVCD42FP70P3 fireplace and if so, where do you connect the leads on the gas flame control valve wiring? Does it also provide a simple on/off function so the fireplace won't light when the temperature in the room drops below the set temperature?
    1 Answer
This would indeed work with the DVCD42FP70P-3. You essentially run two low voltage wires from the thermostat to the wires where your on/off switch clips behind your lower access panel.  It will allow you to have the unit come on and off to keep the room at a set temperature, as well as having a specific "off" setting.

The thermostat will still function without the front cover, so if you are okay with it than it does not need to be replaced.

Is this similar to a standard wall mount thermostat?
    1 Answer
This product is indeed very much the same as a standard analog wall thermostat. The primary difference is that it is calibrated to work with millivoltage, rather than 24 volts that are common to an HVAC thermostat.

Too Big of a Temperature Swing
This thermostat is not for those that want a steady temp. The on/off range was 5 degrees. I had to go to a "home improvement" store to get a better /- 2 degrees unit. Of course it cost twice as much as this one.
was easy to install temp swing is too big +/- 5*
