If I put a horizontal vent out of the wall, do I need to run a chimney up above the roof of the house?
Yes, your venting for this heater must run above the roof since it is a B-Vent heater, not a direct vent unit. If you prefer--and if you are installing a heater on an exterior wall--I can recommend a similar heater that is a direct vent heater, meaning it can vent out of the back of the appliance and terminate there on the exterior wall.

This model carries an efficiency rating in the mid 60% range, as such it would be an effective source of heat while also being efficient.

Yes, the blower has a 3-prong 115-volt power cord that must be plugged in for operation.

I bought this room heater to replace a 15 yr old heater, the experience was and easy and delightful one. the price was reasonable and below competitors, the shipping was free, and the heater is working great, I would definatley bur form them again..
