Dagan 20 Inch Four Bar Black Steel Fireplace Grate

We bought a retirement place, with a 1990s era Heatilator Zero Clearance fireplace. Found replacements for the front screen & fire bricks online but the original grate was almost melted through along the back after 30 years of use. This Dagan 20" was almost an exact match to the Heatilator G-3/4 that was in the Heatilator parts list. It has the shorter legs that allows you to restart easier with a bed of coals, and shorter legged grates also burn all wood to ash, much better. Most grates of this type & size have some type of mesh "pan" built into the design. They dont last long and you have to buy another as they seldom work with a burned out pan. This Dagan grates is a simple 4 bar design, works well and is a bit thicker Varsity than others we tried. So far its worked excellent, had it red hot and still no warping, or bending. If you need a G-4 grates for your old Heatilator ZC, this one is perfect.

The grate is strong enough and light enough to remove to clean chimney.
