When you're assembling the best fireplace you can give your home, why not choose the best materials from top to bottom? To that end, we recommend the Dante straight configuration globe gas valve. Machined from solid brass bar stock and with a formidable 1/2" NPT inlet/outlet, this sturdy gas valve is even rated to 81,700 BTU, so it's ready for the heat. Dante backs all their products up with a one-year warranty, too, so you're also warmed by peace of mind.
I have a Dante gas valve for our fireplace, we believe the seal or gasket on the stem is leaking slightly, is it possible to order a replacement stem, I think the stem threads are a 1/4". OR do you think it would be best to buy a new 1/2 valve and just use the new stem, as the valve in in the wall?

For this issue, we would recommend a replacement valve. Any time a valve is leaking, it is not worth the risk of trying to put a temporary fix on the issue--replace the valve.
The valve body measures 2 1/16 inches from inlet to outlet, with a width of 1 inch and a height from base to tip of stem that measures 2 3/4 inches when closed and 3 inches when open. The cover measures 2 1/4 inches in length from face to end. When installed on the valve body and fully threaded, the overall assembly height is 3 1/4 inches. When fully expanded, the assembly measures 4 inches.
