Can this be hung on the front of a fireplace without a hearth (i.e. suspended by mounting hardware, not resting on the bottom edge)?
There is a flange on the back side of the door that would go into your masonry fireplace and would attach using masonry screws. It would be an overlap fit.

There is insulation included that gets installed between the door frame and the fireplace-facing material. The handles are painted to match the finish on the door.

No, you would need the Savannah 40 x 25 for opening measurements of 35.75 x 24.
