I just purchased this set for our outdoor fireplace. Can these tools be kept outside? We are on the west coast and don't have much snow and very little rain.

For a dry environment, the tools will most likely be alright to leave outside. You will likely experience some fading of the finish, but it would take quite awhile for any corrosion to occur.
