This screen was purchased to be placed in front of a flat, glass and metal frame gas fireplace insert. While beautiful, when the fireplace is on, the metal and glass get very hot and dangerous for a toddler. This screen fits over both the glass and metal frame and allows us to safely enjoy the fireplace.

I'm very pleased with this spark guard fire screen and wish I had gotten it years ago -- before sparks jumped over our previous fire screen, creating small burns on our hardwood floor beyond the hearth and charring spots on what was then a new oriental rug. This screen is sturdily constructed, sleek-looking, and fits our hard-to-fit fireplace perfectly. Also the price was reasonable, especially with free shipping. Speaking of shipping, this order arrived more quickly than I expected, although a corner of the box was torn open; fortunately the screen was not damaged.

Well made beautiful screen. Very much pleased with it, especially since it was purchased for a gas fireplace that is controlled by a thermostat and the enclosed design is perfect to keep our curious cat out of the fireplace. Otherwise we would have roast cat when the thermostat kicked in!
