How far from the edge of the screen are the rear facing legs?

Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide the distance away from the screen. However, the rear legs are directly behind the front legs which are spaced approximately 41.5" apart.

Can this screen be used for an outdoor fireplace?

While this would work for an exterior fireplace, it is not recommended due to the metal rusting when exposed to the elements. I would suggest a stainless steel screen be used for an exterior fireplace.

What is the color of this beauty?

as colors can be subjective, we've leaned on the manufacturer for this question. Pilgrim Hearth describes the finish of this screen as "natural iron". In the various pictures available, the colors range is from duller pewter to a medium bright nickel finish. It certainly is not a highly polished finish and instead is more on the subdued natural end of the spectrum.
