Andirons aren't just a decorative fireplace accent. In addition to providing your hearth with traditional touch, these Pilgrim Blacksmith Wrought Iron Andirons serve several vital functions. To start, they help ensure your safety by keeping your firewood from rolling or shifting as it burns. These andirons will also improve your fireplace's efficiency by allowing air to circulate beneath your logs as well as above them. And, last but not least, these hearth accessories will reduce the wear on the bottom of your fireplace by raising the fire.

If that sounds like a lot of work for what look like two small fireplace accessories, you're right. But you don't need to worry about the ability of these Pilgrim Blacksmith Wrought Iron Andirons to handle that kind of abuse. These andirons are produced by Pilgrim, one of the leading manufacturers of fireplace tools. They're made with only the highest quality materials and most reliable construction techniques. You'd be hard pressed to find more durable pieces of hearth equipment.

Of course, your fireplace can function without andirons. But given the impact they can make on your hearth's performance and appearance, do you really want to be without a pair of Pilgrim Blacksmith Wrought Iron Andirons?

Are these Andirons a deep, solid black?
Are these Andirons a deep, solid black?
The finish on these andirons is vintage iron, so while they are black, they are more of a grey, aged black than a flat black.
