The Big Stick is a handy and easy-to-understand fireplace maintenance tool- grab a stick from the box, toss it into your burning wood fire, and enjoy your evening in front of the crackling flames as usual. This stick activates as soon as it hits your fire and converts soot and creosote into harmless ash that is easy to remove from your chimney or stove pipe. The addition of Magicolor Flame Crystals provides a mesmerizing light show, so you never have to dread regular stove and fireplace maintenance again.
Please Note: This product is only for use in wood-burning fireplaces and non-catalytic wood stoves.

Yes, you can add the creosote remover with the air control or damper closed down on a noncatalytic stove.

Typically I would add creosote/soot removers at the hottest point of the burn cycle. Usually, this is your middle stage. This will ensure the heat activates the chemicals in the removal stick.
