Can this paint be used on a ceramic gas fireplace vent cap?

This paint can indeed be used to coat a fireplace vent cap. If the cap is new, it should be wiped down with a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water to remove any machining oil on the cap.

What preparation do I need to do before applying this paint?
    1 Answer
Using a product such as this, you would need to first rough up the surface with fine grit sandpaper and wipe down any residue from the surface. You would then apply the paint in light, even coatings until a satisfactory covering is achieved. It is recommended to fire the stove at a low burn to cure the paint. It is normal for some smoke/fuming to occur the first time the stove is used.
