Does the fireplace need to be vented after installing this conversion kit? One side will be in a screened porch and the other will be facing the deck.
The same FMI venting system will need to be used, regardless of the configuration of the unit. The see through conversion kit for outdoor use simply weather proofs the unit and prevents cold air from bleeding back to the interior of the house. It also covers the perimeter of the standard conversion kit, which can degrade due to exposure to the elements.
