This valve does not have a built-in thermostat, but you can install a separately-purchased thermostat remote control for it.

Does this valve kit work with a wall mounted wall on/off switch? If so, is there a connection on the valve for the two wire on/off switch?

Yes, it will work this way. You would simply run the wires to the TH and TPTH terminals on the gas valve.

This is indeed the model of Maxitrol valve that has the inlet and outlet on the back side of the valve, adjacent to one another.

Valve Kit
