    Can I use this system for a vent-free fireplace?

    This item is to only be used with vented appliances as there is no Oxygen Depletion Sensor with this unit, which is required for vent free appliances.

    Can this valve be run by a thermostat mounted on the wall to turn it on and off at set temperature s?

    No, this valve kit's only option for remote control is the RCK-M model.
