Does this come with the remote? Where is the flex steel insert I will need as my pit id is 36" also? Will the insert fit with a 36" ID?

No, there is no remote control included, but you can purchase one separately if desired. Yes, this insert has a 36" diameter burner pan so it can be installed within a 36" opening.
