My chimney flue is either oval or rectangle with rounded corners. It measures 10 inches by 17 3/4 inches. With this adjustable chimney cap work? If it does, does it fit round the outside of the unit or does it nestle inside the unit? Thank you
That cap would be fine on that shaped and size flue. It does attach to the clay flue itself. However California requires a tighter mesh pattern (5/8") then that cap has (3/4"). Therefore it is not allowed to be used in the state of California only. There are other caps that will work. Such as Draft King 10 in. x 17 in. Black Painted Galvanized Steel 'California' Single Flue Chimney Cover.
