Hy-C Stove boards are embossed printed steel and 1/2" specially formulated backing material to provide protection from both embers and intense heat from wood stoves.

This board weighs approximately 14 pounds. It is indeed designed to offer thermal protection to the floor beneath the stove. The product has an R rating of 1.56 and can be used in conjunction with a layer of Micore mineral board or cement board to increase the rating.

Looks Great, Fits Perfectly!
