    • Measures 36 inches wide x 36 inches long
    • Solid black design
    • Made in the USA
    • Meets UL1618 Type 2 standards for Thermal Protection
    • Protects your floors from the intense heat, hot coals, ashes and soot that wood stoves can produce
    • Homeowners can use this stove board under other heating appliances such as kerosene, gas and electric heaters
    • Use a stove board/hearth extender to protect your floor in front of your fireplace
    • Stove boards may be used as a wall shield to protect your walls from heat (Wall Spacer Kit - ULSK is not included, but must be used in this application)
    • R-Value of 1.56
This stove board comes in a 3 foot by 3 foot size, and displays a beautifully simulated woodgrain design. With this hearth extender, you can create added protection around your hearth and protect a larger area around your fireplace. What is this made of and can it be used outdoors?
    1 Answer
This board is manufactured from a layer of mineral board, wrapped in a galvanized steel cover. It can be used outside, but I recommend keeping it under cover, as the mineral board is exposed on the bottom and can absorb water, which will result in swelling.

Can you place a wood heater on this stove board?
    1 Answer
You can. This is a completely noncombustible hearth board which consists of mineral board, wrapped in a metal jacket. It provides an R-value of 1.56. As long as the heater does not require additional floor protection, it can be placed directly on the board.

    from Seattle asked:
    October 15, 2013
Can this be used in lieu of a hearth pad?
    1 Answer
Hearth pad and stove board are terms that are used interchangeably in the industry. This board can be used in place of the more traditional pads that are often seen, which tend to be heavier and thicker. This board offers an R value of 1.56. If the board is being installed over a combustible floor, it is important to make sure that your stove does not require a board with a higher R value.
