For the MRCOOL 36K BTU DIY 5th Generation Mini-Split Heat Pump Condenser (model DIY-36-HP-C-230D25-O), which operates on 230V, the manufacturer specifies a Minimum Circuit Ampacity (MCA) of 33 Amps and a Maximum Fuse (Breaker) of 35 Amps. Based on these specifications, the minimum recommended wire size to use from your distribution panel to the unit is 8-2 gauge wire. For optimal performance and safety, a 6-2 gauge wire is preferred. Please note that all wiring must comply with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
