If the black painted finish on the Napoleon 1402 insert gets scratched or dirty, how can it be repaired/refreshed? Can stove-black be used?
Napoleon offers a specific touch up paint for certain units which can be specially ordered if there are any blemishes on your unit's facing.

What is the difference between the napoleon gds281N and the gds281NSB?
The SB implies that the unit is using B-Venting instead of direct venting.

I want a vented stove. Similar to the Havelock8482; Product Code - GDS50 / Direct Vent Gas Stove. What does Vent B mean and how does it compare to other options?
B-Vent means that the unit uses air from the room for combustion and exhausts out of aluminum venting. B-Vent units are meant to be decorative and do not put out much heat. If you are looking for heating, we would suggest a direct vent stove.

We have a Napolean Gas Stove Insert; NAL BED42N. I am interested in a new stove that wold be similar to this model. My fireplace opening is 29" high; 29.75" wide in the back; 35.5" wide in the front; 18.5 deep at the top; 21.5" deep at the bottom.
I am unable to find any literature for a Napoleon with this model number, but the letter "N" in the product nomenclature would indicate this is a gas hearth system of some sort. Are you looking for a gas insert that will fit inside the dimensions you have provided? If these are measurements for a wood burning fireplace opening, please confirm.
