The only required component to make a functioning wood-burning fireplace is the chimney pipe. The chimney required would be based on your scenario and would have to be added.

This fireplace requires an SL300 double-wall chimney pipe, none of which is included with the unit itself. As such, yes, you can order the fireplace and then as much of the chimney as needed for your application.
