Will this work on carpet, and if so can you walk on top of it?
The manufacturer states that this glass hearth pad "must not be installed on a carpeted surface.". The glass' nominal thickness is 10 millimeters, so less than half an inch (approximately 0.4 inches). As such, it is not designed to be walked on and could crack under pressure.

high quality but pricey
High quality glass pad - seems like it will be durable. Shipment was well packaged. Knocked off a star due to cost - seems like a local glass shop could fabricate the same pad for less but I did not shop around.
