If this glass panel is laid on plywood, can it be kneeled or stepped on without cracking? Can the panel be cut to less than 50”?

The nominal thickness of this panel is 10mm and may crack when pressure is applied. We can not cut this panel, as it comes from the manufacturer at this length.

Will this work on carpet, and if so can you walk on top of it?

The manufacturer states that this glass hearth pad "must not be installed on a carpeted surface.". The glass' nominal thickness is 10 millimeters, so less than half an inch (approximately 0.4 inches). As such, it is not designed to be walked on and could crack under pressure.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
High quality but pricey
High-quality glass pad - seems like it will be durable. The shipment was well packaged. Knocked off a star due to cost - seems like a local glass shop could fabricate the same pad for less but I did not shop around.
