Will this protect the pavers used around the ring from cracking?
This fire ring will assist in prolonging the life of the pavers used around the perimeter of the firepit from cracking. However, when the fire is hot, the pavers will be vulnerable to thermal expansion stress and may crack. It is recommended to use a layer of firebrick between the fire ring and the exterior paver stones for additional thermal protection.

Great Firering
I ordered this fire ring to use as an insert for the fire pit I was building in our back yard. It was exactly what I wanted. It is fairly heavy metal and easy to assemble and looks great. It was also easy to adjust the size in order to fit the stone I placed around it for the finished look I desired. Would recommend this to anyone looking to build a fire pit or just use it by itself.
