Can your mantel be used over a horizontal wood-burning-stove metal flue pipe (into a concrete block wall) with 1" clearance?
While this is a non-combustible mantel shelf, it still may be susceptible to heat transfer to an adjacent combustible surface if it is installed that close to the pipe.
