Customer Q&A with Product Specialists

Suzi from Vermont asked:
If I buy a propane insert, is it easy to convert to natural gas later?
If I buy a propane insert, is it easy to convert to natural gas later?
If the insert is Direct vent, it can be converted to an opposite fuel type with a conversion kit. This typically involves changing out orifices, a stepper motor on the gas valve, and adjusting the air shutter on the burn tube. This usually involves taking the burner apart to get to these components and it is recommended to be done a professional plumber or service technician. If the appliance is to be vent free, it cannot be converted after the fact.

Where is your local showroom? I'm in Pocono Summit, PA.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but we do not have a showroom you can visit. eFireplaceStore is an online-only retailer with no brick-and-mortar locations nationwide, including Pennsylvania. Our headquarters is located in Memphis, TN, and we offer nationwide shipping, so we can certainly deliver to Pocono Summit.

To help you with your decision since you cannot see the units in person, we recommend two resources. If you need a local professional to assess your fireplace opening or handle installation, you can search for NFI-certified technicians in your area by zip code at nficertified.org. Our own NFI-certified technicians are also available to assist you with sizing, venting, and model selection. Simply reply with your existing firebox opening measurements (front width, back width, depth, and height), and we will recommend suitable inserts.

You can also use our Virtual Fireplace Insert Assistant, which is pre-configured for propane and will guide you through the selection process step-by-step. For further browsing and information, please see our full selection of Propane Fireplace Inserts and the Gas Fireplace Inserts Buyers Guide.

About Propane Fireplace Inserts

On a cold winter's evening, there's nothing better than curling up on the couch with a good book while a cozy fire burns in the fireplace nearby. And with a propane fireplace insert or natural gas insert, you can start that fire with a literal flip of a switch! Propane gas fireplace inserts are designed to be installed in your current masonry fireplace, so you don't even have to clear out an extra space.

Propane fires can be lit in an instant-they literally light at the touch of a button. What an incredible convenience! No more wrestling with kindling and matches. Now you simply turn on your fireplace and instantly enjoy dancing flames! And since propane is so economical, the fire can be lit every day. In fact, your propane fire may produce enough heat to warm your entire living area! Many inserts include a blower to help with heat circulation. Even clean-up is a breeze with propane fireplace inserts! Instead of sweeping out ashes and wiping soot off of every surface, there are a few specific parts that need to be cleaned occasionally. Your owner's manual will give specific instructions for cleaning, but the task is not nearly as labor intensive as cleaning an insert that burns wood or coal. At eFireplaceStore.com, we recognize that you're making a sacrifice to upgrade your fireplace. That's why we offer some of the best prices on our items! And with our large selection, you're sure to find products that meet your needs and don't break your budget. You can even enjoy free shipping with most of our items!
