Regular and thorough vent cleaning is important for the safe operation of any vented appliance. This dryer vent brush by Rutland is designed for the special needs of vents for pellet stoves and dryers. It has a soft bristle brush with a relatively small diameter that is mounted on the end of a 20' handle. This allows the navigation of sharp turns, even through pipe elbows, without getting caught. The brush head is 4" and is made with 0.020" poly filament.

Will this work to clean my sauna stack?
If the sauna stack is a 4" pipe and does not have glazed creosote (tar-like), then this should work well.

Solid but can stick
Have used this brush on a straight vent pipe for our pellet stove. Did very well. Left a small amount of residue in the vent pipe. Also used it to clean our dryer exhaut pipe. Had difficulty getting around one of the two bends in the pipe. Was able to eveneutaly get it from end to end and cleaned the pipe adequately.

A little difficult working it around a bend.

Worked on a 24' Flue Pipe.
Had to straighten the cable several times to get it to push down the pipe. Finally was able to brush the last 4-5 feet as the unit kept coiling back a bit and wouldn't push any farther. I got a lot more ash than I thought I would. It really clings to the flue pipe and needs to be brushed out at the end of the heating season..

Coil "memory" kept recoiling the cable.
