This graphite-reinforced fiberglass rope can withstand temperatures as high as 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Its black color blends in with the finish of most stoves, making your work invisible. This gasketing is so durable that it's commonly used in stove manufacturing. 25 feet of 1" gasketing is included with this item.

I have an old Nashua wood stove. The channel for the gasket is 1" deep by 3/4" wide. Would your 1" rope fit and not protrude so much as not to be able to close and latch the door?
The 1" rope will not fit as it would need a 1" deep and 1" wide channel into which it could be installed.
