How is the 54-inch measurement taken for this hearth pad? Is it from the back corner to the front, or side to side along the front edge?
The '54 Inches' measurement refers to the length along each of the two straight edges of the pad that would sit against the walls, starting from the corner. This is not a measurement from the back corner to the front, nor is it the overall side-to-side width across the front. A diagram illustrating these dimensions can be found in the installation guide.

Yes, this hearth pad can be placed on carpet. However, please be aware that it is designed for ember protection only and does not offer thermal protection. It should only be used with stoves that do not require a specific R-value for heat protection underneath.
